Fire Detection and Suppression

Protect Your Business and Your Staff

We offer design, installation, testing, upgrades and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems for offices, warehouses and factories.

Local authority regulation and insurance company requirements control the original design as well as on going testing and maintenance of fire detection systems. This is one area where only a truly professional service provider can met the various requirements for response time, licensing and accountability. Our staff can keep your fire system in compliance and in top condition.

Because of Keyes North Atlantic's early entry into this field (starting in 1963) we have excellent long-term relationships in the City of Boston proper and the surrounding cites and towns. The fact that we are not strictly aligned with only one manufacturer gives us enormous flexibility in serving customers' different types of equipment and facilities. As one of our customers, you have access to our staff 24 hours a day. This staff is responds quickly to alarms or system trouble signals.

We've provided additional information about our firm and system components. We also have additional information about sprinkler systems for your review. We welcome you to call us with any questions you may have. Let us know if you'd like a professional staff member to meet with you.

Thank you.

Fire Alarm Control Panels
The heart of your fire detection system is the fire alarm control panel (FACP). FACP's are manufactured in two basic configurations; digital and analog. Digital panels use a "polling loop" wiring configuration to connect the system devices.

Each device, i.e., smoke detector or pull station, has a unique code. When a device is triggered, a preset group of commands in the logic of the FACP is enacted. The FACP then responds by triggering a local trouble signal or the building alarm horns/strobes and fire department. All of the information about the device can be read at the FACP display readout.

Analog systems are designed for the smaller facility and in replacement of older systems. Analog systems use "zones" to report on the status of detection in the building. For example, each floor of a building is typically a separate zone in an analog system.

Smoke Detectors
Smoke detectors are a most important part of any fire detection system. Early fire warning is foremost in the design and placement of smoke detectors. Superior smoke detector design must be matched with proper placement in your facility. Maintenance and testing of smoke detectors is equally important to ensure your system is ready and capable of performing.

We use in depth knowledge of the code, years of experience and quality smoke detection products to give you a reliable and trustworthy fire detection system.

Testing and Maintenance
Fire detection systems save lives and property day after day. Nobody doubts the need for a well designed and properly functioning system. Yet as noted above, keeping current with the regulations governing fire detection systems is a huge task. At Keyes North Atlantic we provide specially trained and licensed personnel to perform all required testing and maintenance to ensure your system continues to operate properly.

You need a testing company that works with you to schedule tests at appropriate times and shows up on time and ready to go. We help you by sending notices, posting signs, arranging off-hour tests, and working fast. We also provide testing or service contract coverage for systems installed by others.

We are capable of acting as a general contractor providing in-house licensing, construction supervisors, electricians, fire alarm technicians, pipe fitters, plumbers, sheet metal workers, refrigeration technicians and sprinkler fitters as well as experienced project managers and qualified subcontractors. By offering these in house services we deliver quality and timely completion. We also offer complete design build services for installing emergency generators, battery back up and transfer switching to keep your Life Safety systems operating.
