Pricing: Fire Alarm & Sprinkler Systems

Please note: The following prices are estimates only. Each building is custom quoted. Prices also vary depending by building location.

Testing & Cleaning
Fire detection and fire sprinkler inspections are based on the current Massachusetts Building Code (which is generally based on the NFPA guidelines.) The inspections meet the current recommendations of the NFPA guidelines. The inspections meet or exceed the current city or town Fire Department requirements. Our firm's agreement to provide regular inspections does not verify that the fire alarm system meets the current State, Federal or Local and Life Safety Codes for fire detection. All customers must agree to the contract specifications of our firm's fire systems contract. Fire alarm testing prices do not include sprinkler systems or cleaning the interior of the smoke detector chamber. Sprinkler system and smoke detector cleaning pricing is shown below.

Fire Alarm Shut Downs
The following pricing is for construction related (or other false alarm caused) shut-downs and restoration of active fire detection and suppression systems. All shut-down systems must be restored at the end of the work day unless written permission is obtained from the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Prices are shown without base charge. Fire Systems Acceptance Test
The acceptance test will be performed by Keyes North Atlantic, Inc. with the assistance of the installer at an appointment determined by all parties. Final acceptance by the Authority Having Jurisdiction is not guaranteed by Keyes North Atlantic, Inc. regardless of whether a pre-test is performed. If additional testing is required beyond the initial agreement for any reason, the installing contractor will be required to purchase additional tests.

In some cases, a signed contract to perform regularly scheduled inspections and to provide twenty four hour emergency response may be required by the fire department prior to the acceptance test. Please let us know if you will require these services so that we can prepare the paper work for review prior to the appointment with the Authority Having Jurisdiction. We charge $110.00 per hour for acceptance testing.

Conditions: We perform a fire detection and/or suppression system acceptance inspection test for sites under the following understanding:

• all of our work time (both field work and office work) will be paid
• all invoices for acceptance tests will be paid in advance of our performing the field work
• Keyes North Atlantic, Inc.'s participation in an acceptance test does not indicate verification that the system(s) has been installed properly.

Pre-Acceptance Tests
A pretest may be performed at the request of the installer or Authority Having Jurisdiction prior to an acceptance test with the fire department. The pretest is performed by Keyes North Atlantic, Inc. with the assistance of the installer. The installer or Authority Having Jurisdiction may request that we provide a list of likely code deficiencies prior to their acceptance test. The cost of a pre-test is the same as the cost of an acceptance test. If a pre-test is requested the installing contractor will be invoiced for two tests. The decision to perform the final acceptance test with the fire department is that of the field mechanic working for Keyes North Atlantic, Inc. The decision to require a re-test is that of the mechanic. Keyes North Atlantic, Inc. is not responsible for any cost as a result of the failure to foresee the changes or repairs that are required by the fire department.
