The attached report is a follow-up on our evaluation of the central heating, cooling and humidification systems at 8 Main Street in Newton. Our evaluation of the systems was performed on Thursday September 30, 1999. The purpose of the evaluation was to provide the potential buyer with a basic understanding of the systems and to determine if the overall design will provide comfortable heating and cooling.
Basic Overview of the HVAC Systems
Heat is produced in five oil fired boilers. The output of these boilers is piped in parallel into a central loop system contained within the mechanical space. The central loop system connects to a series of pump stations. These pump stations transfer heat from the boiler loop to anti-freeze filled loops for delivery throughout the house and perimeter sidewalks. A separate pump station transfers boiler heat to the domestic water heating and storage tanks.
